Aura Elixir was built on a specific dissatisfaction. Therapeutic aromatherapy has one of the strongest evidence bases in botanical medicine — and most of the industry ignores it in favour of the word natural printed on a bottle. We decided to do something more difficult: say exactly what is in each product, where it came from, and what the published science says it does.

Every oil we carry is verified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, which produces a chemical fingerprint confirming the exact compounds present and their concentrations. This is how we know our Helichrysum contains italidiones — the sesquiterpene fraction responsible for its tissue-regenerating properties — and not a substitute from a cheaper origin. It is how we know our Rosemary is the ct. cineole chemotype, which the University of Northumbria studied for cognitive performance, and not the camphor-dominant variety that lacks that research base.

Raw materials are sourced from growing regions around the world — Corsica, Egypt, Somalia, Calabria, Morocco, India, Sri Lanka — then extracted in Quebec by craftsmen with over forty years of experience in distillation and formulation. The origin matters because it determines the chemistry. A Corsican Helichrysum and a Bosnian Helichrysum are not the same oil. The region, the altitude, the soil, the harvest window — these determine the constituent profile, which determines the therapeutic effect. We know the origin of every product we sell. We can document it.
